| In 2004, Resendez ran personal best in the half marathon, 10,000 meters, and 5,000 meter distances. Michelle's running career is just beginning to blossom. Her introduction to track was in high school where she competed in the 100 meter and 300 meter hurdles and long jump. She experimented with distance running at the last meet of her freshman year at Mesa Community College, running the 5,000 meters on a whim. From there she was hooked and went on to earn NJCAA All-American honors the following cross country season. Michelle is very involved in the running community where she lives. Along the way she has had to take four separate breaks from running to carry her young children to birth, Carlin, Cyler, Caden, and Crewe. She also works as a registered nurse in obstetrics and women's health.
