Wingfoot Post Solid Marks in Track Season Opener

Phoenix, AZ — The Wingfoot Finish team opened up the 2007 track campaign on Saturday at the Puma Indoor Invitational hosted by Paradise Valley College in Phoenix, posting solid marks in the meet.

In the 1,500 meter run, the tandem of Penny Tinker and Au Nguyen placed third and fifth in their respective races, with Penny posting a time of 5:23.07 and Au with a mark of 4:30.75.

Anthony Damiani was the 800 meter champion. With his time of 2:11.31, Anthony edge out his second place competitor by just over one second.

As the sole competitor in the women's 3,000 meter run, Michelle Resendez ran a comfortable 10:53.87. This event was run with the men as Au had an impressive second place finish in a time of 9:46.89. Teammate Evan Jarashow finished in fifth place with a time of 10:14.94 while Joel Hartman took sixth place with a mark of 10:29.05.

In the 4 x 400 meter relay, the Wingfoot Finish quartet of Anthony, Joel, Au and Evan placed fourth in a time of 4:02.69.

Establishing club records were Anthony (800m), Penny (1,500m), Michelle (3,000m) Au (1,500m and 3,000m) and the 4 x 400m relay team of Anthony, Joel, Au, and Evan.

Next up for the Wingfoot Finish team is a road race in Tucson (A Fine Valentine 5 Miler) on Sunday, February 11, 2007.
