Wingfoot Has Strong Showing at Flames Invitational
Mesa, AZ — The Wingfoot Finish track team added more strong performance on Saturday at the Flames Invitational at Mesa Community College.
Au Nguyen won the 1500m in 4:22.72 and took first place honors in the 800m with a time of 2:08.09, both of which became the club records in each event.
Joel Hartman ran a season best in the 1500m with a 4:26.86 and followed that effort with a 2:16.67 in the 800m
Brianna Spletstoser and Michelle Resendez took on the challenge of breaking the 19 minute mark in the 5000m. The gutsy effort fell short as Michelle was able to pace Brianna to a 19:36.84.
The team will be back in competition next weekend when they run at Tempe Town Lake to take part in the Capitol Bancorp 5k.
