Solid Efforts at Paradise Valley Invitational

Phoenix, AZ — Wingfoot Finish returned to the track with participation in the Paradise Valley Invitational. Au Nguyen reclaimed the club record in the 1500m and eclipsed the 800m record on his first attempt at the distance this season.

Michelle Resendez continued her winning ways in the 1500m as she demolished the field by nearly 12 seconds in a time of 4:56.03.

Also competing in the 1500m were Jon Miller and newcomer Shane Kersten (or Shane Tinker as his like to tease him). Shane ran a 4:32.63 to place him fourth on the clubs all-time list while Miller completed the distance in 5:15.96.

The team will be traveling to California next weekend and will be compete in three different meets. The action will begin Friday morning as Brianna Splestoser, Amaree Wright, Joel Hartman, and AJ Jimenez will be running the 1500m at the Azusa Pacific Invitational. Later that evening Michelle will take the spotlight at the prestigious University/Open Division 5000m at the Mt. SAC Relays. The final meet will be the Long Beach Invitational on Saturday that will take place the on the campus of Cal State University at Long Beach. Team members are scheduled to compete in the 1500m and 800m runs.
